What the plugin does
The Beverage Finder plugin for WordPress displays an interactive map of the retailers that carry your products. You import a CSV of your distribution locations, add the [beverage_finder] shortcode to a page, and customers can find the closest place to buy your beer, seltzer, wine, spirits, or coffee.
- Interactive Google Map with a sortable list of nearby locations
- CSV import that matches an Encompass sales report, or use our template
- Filter by product so customers find exactly what they want
- Custom map pin
- Location expiration based on the last delivery date
- Edit any location in the admin: name, address, products, coordinates
- Download all of your locations as a CSV
- Unlimited locations

What you need
- A Google Maps JavaScript API key. The plugin draws the map on your own site with your own key. Create one in the Google Cloud Console, enable the Maps JavaScript API, restrict the key to your domain, and paste it into BevFinder → Settings.
- A CSV of your locations. The map places a pin using latitude and longitude. Only have addresses? Import anyway — rows without coordinates import fine, and you can fill them in afterward (see below).
The CSV columns
Use the template, or build an Encompass report with these columns in this order. Latitude and Longitude are the last two.
| 1 | Distributor Number | 9 | Supplier Product Num |
| 2 | Distributor Retailer ID | 10 | Brand Name |
| 3 | Retailer Name | 11 | Product Name |
| 4 | Address | 12 | On/Off Premise |
| 5 | City | 13 | Salesperson |
| 6 | State | 14 | Delivery Date |
| 7 | Zip | 15 | Latitude |
| 8 | Distributor Product Num | 16 | Longitude |
A few notes on the data:
- Product names must match exactly between rows. “BevFinder IPA” and “BevFinder India Pale Ale” will show up as two different products in the filter.
- One row is one product at one location. Four of your beers at the same bar is four rows.
- Delivery Date should be MM/DD/YYYY. It drives the expiration setting.
- Leave the header row in place so the column count stays right.
- Self-distributing? Put your own business name in the Distributor Number column.
Free ways to get your coordinates
1. Google Maps, one at a time
Good for a handful of locations. Search the address on Google Maps, right-click the spot, and click the coordinates at the top of the menu to copy them. You'll get something like 36.1627, -86.7816 — latitude first, then longitude. Paste each number into its column.
2. Let us do it, right inside WordPress
Connect a Beverage Finder account to the plugin and click Get Coordinates. Every address without coordinates is looked up and saved straight to your map — no spreadsheets. The free plan covers 10 addresses a month, and paid plans start at $9/month for 500 lookups monthly — see pricing. The steps are below.
Get Coordinates from inside WordPress
- Create your account at beveragefinder.net/sign-up. The free plan includes 10 address lookups a month and needs no credit card. Paid plans include a 14-day trial: Starter (500 lookups, $9/mo), Regional (2,000, $15/mo), National (5,000, $29/mo).
- Copy your WordPress API Key from the WordPress Plugin section of your Beverage Finder admin. (It's a different key from your License Key.)
- In WordPress, go to BevFinder → Get Lat / Long, paste the key, and click Save Key.
- Click Get Coordinates. The plugin sends only the street address, city, state, and ZIP of locations without coordinates, and saves the results as they come back. You'll see a progress bar and a running count.
- Fix anything not found. Addresses that couldn't be placed are marked “Address not found” on BevFinder → Locations. Correct the address and save, then run Get Coordinates again.
How lookups are counted
- Each unique address is one lookup. Four of your products at the same location is one lookup, not four.
- An address your account looked up on Google in the last 30 days is free to look up again.
- When you reach your monthly allowance, lookups stop. On a paid plan you can accept the overage notice ($10 per block of 1,000; a partial block counts as a full block) to keep going; the Free plan stops at 10.
- Google's terms let coordinates it provides be kept for 30 days. Running Get Coordinates after that refreshes them, and each refresh counts as a lookup.
Re-importing later updates existing locations rather than duplicating them, and any location you've edited by hand in WordPress is left alone.
Prefer not to use the plugin?
A Beverage Finder account also gives you a hosted map you can drop onto any site, WordPress included, with no plugin at all:
<iframe src="https://beveragefinder.net/users/beveragefinder-map.php?iframe=1&key=YOUR_KEY" width="100%" height="900" style="border:0;"></iframe>
That version keeps your locations and coordinates on our side, so there's no CSV to move back and forth. We also offer a JavaScript embed that renders inside your page, which needs your domain added to our Google Maps key first — that takes up to 48 hours and we'll email you when it's ready.
